The Shape of You
1 Corinthians 12:26; Luke 10:38–42
Personality is part of God’s design.
It includes our innate mental, emotional, and behavioral wiring—how we intuitively relate
to people, tasks, risk, structure things, etc.
Personality affects how your SHAPE is expressed.
Personality doesn’t stand alone—it interacts with your spiritual gifts, abilities, heart passions, and life experiences. Your personality will influence how the others are used, and what settings feel natural.
Two people with the same spiritual gifts might use them differently because of their personality (1 Cor. 12:26; Luke 10:38–42; Acts 2:14–41; 17:16–34).
Spiritual Growth Application:
1. Self-awareness: Understand your temperament.
2. Sanctification: Align blind spots and personality-driven tendencies with Christ’s character.
3. Community: Differences complete the body of Christ, so give and receive from others.
4. Know Purpose: Your personality can inform purpose and vice-versa.
