The Story Only You Can Tell

Mark 5:1–20; Mark 7:31–37; Mark 1–10

Potentially the hardest act of obedience Jesus ever required of his followers: don’t tell anyone (Mark 5:43; Mark 7:36; Mark 8:30; Matthew 9:30).

There were exceptions to this pattern (Mark 5:19).

A story, your story, contains significant power.

• Mark 5: The story opens a region.

• John 4: The story opens a town.

• John 9: The story breaks blind religion.

• Revelation 12:11: The story overcomes.

Stories are non-confrontational.

Stories are hard to argue with.

Stories plant seeds of faith to consider.

Stories have “handles.”

• Life before I invited Jesus in.

• What Jesus did.

• Life since I invited Jesus in.

Be brief, be clear, name the name of Jesus.
