Psalm 51

Repentance: “To change your mind in a way that changes your life.”

• A heart that has been deceived does not usually reject repentance all at once.

• It slowly reduces “I have sinned” to “I made a mistake” to “I don’t see the problem.”

The problem: Psalm 50:16–21

The temptation with repentance is to look around instead of looking up.

The solution: Psalm 51

Repentance briefly surveys our sin, but it stares at our God.

Heavenly Father, where are you leading me to repent?
