Shifting Atmospheres like David Did
Psalms 3, 27, 56
Prayer is not just communication with God; it is participation in his reality.
When you pray covenant truth, you shift atmospheres—first internally, then externally.
The pattern of David’s prayers:
1. Declare who God is.
2. Align your heart internally.
3. Call for God to act externally.
Psalms that reveal this pattern:
• Ps. 3: “I lie down and sleep…” → “Arise, Lord!”
• Ps. 27: “Whom shall I fear?” → “Do not give me over…”
• Ps. 23: “He restores my soul…” → “You prepare a table…”
• Ps. 56: “When I am afraid…” → “My enemies will turn back…”
Your prayer pattern:
1. Anchor in truth: “God, you are…”
2. Align your heart: “Therefore, I will…”
3. Invite his action: “Now bring your will and promises into this…”
